The International Otter Survival Fund (IOSF) designated the last Wednesday of May as World Otter Day. Their goal is to raise awareness to their work protecting, conserving, and caring for otters everywhere.
As an otter fan, I look forward to sharing that vision. What better way to do that than showing off my wares. You can too, by wearing an Otter Things shirt, or drinking coffee at the office in an Otter Things mug.
I am having a special sales event today through Friday (May 1-4, 2018). Indulge in some otter shopping and save 10% on products storewide. That way you can have your gear before May 30.
If you are anything like me, you can’t wait to wear your new clothes. I cut off the tags, wash and dry the item, and don it as fast as possible. Many times it is still warm from the dryer when I put it on. It is okay to be excited about new clothes, but take some time to read the care instructions before you ruin your new purchase.
Otter Things apparel comes in a few different blends. Some are 100% cotton; others are a 50/50 cotton/polyester blend. You can follow the instructions on the garment label, but you will want to account for the printed design too. Luckily, the care for your new digs is simple. Otter Things has added another way to stay connected with the shop. If Facebook or Twitter aren’t your things, you can follow Otter Things on Instagram.
Here you can see an otter side of my store. I will post pictures of new products, ideas, and possibly contests.
I’m still getting the hang of the application, but it is an excellent way to share my stories of what I Otter Be® doing.

Now that Halloween is over, it’s time to talk about another scary time of the year, holiday shopping. The holidays are coming, and it can be a hectic time for everyone. If you are one of the many that wait until the last minute to get that holiday shopping done, then this information will be important to you.
When you purchase gifts at Otter Things, each one is printed individually for you at the time you order. I want to make sure that you get your otter gifts in time for the holidays. Packages will be traveling all over the globe, without the help of jolly old St. Nick, so I thought you would like to know some holiday ordering deadlines. Continue reading Holiday Deliveries
Some of my designs have been available outside of the United States due to my accounts with CafePress and Zazzle. Since I am slowly working away from those outlets and focusing more on my own site, it was difficult for customers to purchase products in other countries. This will change.
Printful, the company that prints my products, has recently opened a new facility in Riga, Latvia. This would allow me to fulfill orders in the EU easier than before. So for all you otter lovers in German, England, or elsewhere in Europe, you will benefit from this new option for Otter Things. Continue reading Otter Things in Europe
All of my products at Otter Things™ are printed as soon as the customer orders them. Because of that, each product is printed especially for you when you order.
When I was developing my shop, I was thrilled to find a company for my printing needs. Printful, the company that prints my designs, uses multiple brands for apparel lines. In the past I chose American Apparel® for my designs because they were made in America, the quality of clothing was nice, and the material was soft and comfy. Continue reading Making Some Otter Changes: Part Two
Some of you may have bought my illustrations on products from CafePress or Zazzle. First of all, thank you. I started my creations because I had a hard time finding otter paraphernalia in stores or on the web. It means a lot to me to know that I am able to provide items for other otter lovers in the world. Second, I am making some changes to what you can find at those shops. Continue reading Making Some Otter Changes: Part One
Every year I reassess how the store is running and tweak something here or there. This is a normal process of business. At the end of last year, I reviewed sales of various products, both here at Otter Things and at my other sales outlets. I also research new products and possible new designs. Continue reading Otter Changes Coming Soon
It’s the New Year and Otter Things is another year older. On January 4, my little otter empire turned 6. As a special treat, I gave it a Twitter profile. Yup, otter and bird are together at last!
In the past, all the news from Otter Things showed up here on the blog, and then I started the Facebook Page. I had my own author Twitter account, but I am sure some of you don’t want to hear the ramblings of a children’s author, and some of my writing colleges and fans don’t want to be inundated with cute otter pictures—of course, I don’t see why not. Continue reading Some Otter Things on Twitter
At the request of one of my customers, I am adding posters to the Otter Things™ product line. I always considered this option, but I just hadn’t gotten around to it. Well, here they come.
The posters are available in two sizes, 12 x 16 inches and 18 x 24 inches. Printed on thick, durable, matte paper, the illustrations are rich and defined. The paper is also archival and acid-free, printed right here, in the USA. Continue reading Posting Otter Things Up
